The first time I met Jill I instantly knew I would marry her. We were both working for the McCann Erickson advertising agency and she had a reputation as one not to suffer fools lightly. She walked into my office and made a joke about one of my books, and my hackles immediately rose. People tended to tiptoe around me as I was already a published author by then, but she went straight for the throat. Frankly I thought it amazing and I found her very attractive. For our first date I accompanied her on a work trip to Alton Towers. I have a passion for amusement parks but she hates them so, once again, it was chalk and cheese.
