A STEM Brand Of A Grandpa's Playtime Does Modern Well!
mosie_edga· Review provided by ebay.com · January 27, 2023
Bought for our autistic grandson, He's bright, but has only been building Lego products on his own (he's twelve this week) for a year. He has had Pa-pa working with him on those multi-story building from Streetscapes(?). We started Lego builds with him about three years ago, with a fire station that had a roll-up garage door and other door types. He has gotten the Corner Garage and fell in love with the truck and lift. Pa-pa (me) is a Ford-Romantic, so seeing a Bronco and an updated Fort GT 40; Caleb just had to have it. It's been two wonderful evenings where, "Papa, come help me, please." has been a joy to my ears that his dad never allowed me: Dad is a stubborn, crafty young man, that works things through using an artist's mind. Caleb is more of a realist that categorizes. Example, at two, he was informing his younger sister that the stairs / ladder on a public swimming pool or slide was a "climb-up". Yes, it has been fun watching our little "Master Builder" mature, as he enjoys learning new ways to combine known bricks, blocks, and tiles with a few stickers and wheels.
8-Stud Wide Comes Of Age
GenuineTire037· Review provided by LEGO · August 14, 2021
I got this set while doing a Walmart Run with my brother. initially I was going to get the Corvette set. Though to my dismay I discovered that most of the new Speed Champions sets had been bought off the shelves. The only remaining two being this set, and the set with the Dodge Challenger and the Dragster.
I Chose this set, as I liked the cars featured (The Ford GT in Gulf Oil livery is my absolute favorite paint job for this car)
The introduction of 8-stud wide Speed Champion cars last year was something I had dreamed of happening. Although when seeing them I was a bit disappointed. the wheels looks too small compared to the rest of the car. (that is especially evident on the GTR, I-Pace, and Urus) but I chalked that up to teething problems.
However, this year Lego introduced new wheel rims that looked bigger (although in actuality they aren't) and made the cars look more to scale.
And the techniques used on the Ford GT are almost enough to make me tear up. The whole car is so smooth, the angles mesh wonderfully with the rest of the car, and the air intakes look amazing.

The Bronco R is equally as amazing, and while I would prefer to have a Stock looking Bronco, I still very much like this one. the technique used to make the roll cage looks amazing (although it is very fiddly when putting a mini figure inside)
my only gripes with the Bronco is the aforementioned fiddliness of the roll cage and that the spare tires seem all too eager to come off.
But those are small gripes, and overall this is an absolutely AMAZING set.
Setting New Standards
LordPizza· Review provided by LEGO · June 9, 2021
This set truly sets a new standard for speed champions. Everything from the unique color schemes of the vehicles to the minimizing of studs that are visible on the builds just come together. I think LEGO was very smart to choose the gulf-livery heritage edition for the GT as it has so much more pop and flare. The construction of the front splitter and the hollow spaces of the GT really help, and is possible with the 8-stud format. Even the interior line of the seats and the engine were modeled in; the attention to detail! The Bronco R is heavy and beefy and awesome. It has the feel of something rushing through the landscape, ready to haul itself over rocks and sand. The construction is very impressive, with no custom frame pieces used; the whole thing is a brick-built chassis! The role-cage is also very impressive to see in this set, spanning from the back which helps hold the massive spare wheels in place, going up through the cabin, and down to the front of the car with blue pieces used almost entirely to imitate the structure. Overall, this set is a great addition to Speed Champions; the level of detail and accuracy is really wonderful, and the diversity and indication of performance of the two cars pulls it all together. It really shows how far along the design and choices have come to produce such an awesome pair of vehicles.
Great 2 in 1 addition to our collection
· Review provided by walmart.com · April 25, 2023
We always love the 2 in 1 sets for Speed Champions. This is a nice addition to the collection And i like the variety here, a 4x4 as well as the race car, not simply two different race cars.

Solid builds, plenty of playability for kids like my son who would spend a lot of time on his hands and knees on the floor with these sets.

And grabbed it on sale as well, so even more of a value.
