I bought a cheaper version from another company that was horrible. This thing here is spot on! It’s very accurate and great for checking under your cabinets when it’s 3° out side to make sure your pipes don’t freeze you can also, check the temps in your refrigerator, my refrigerator is not working right now, so this was very handy! This is one of the better temp guns I have used.

I bought this thermometer to use for handmade soap making and candle making. I like this thermometer because I don't have to insert a thermometer into liquids to get a reading (which makes it a safer choice than a traditional metal thermometer).

What I don't like about this thermometer is that it is not an instant-read thermometer. To be fair, I don't know if an instant-read laser thermometer even exists. It will give you a quick reading, but you have to hold the trigger for awhile to get an accurate temperature. I bought this thermometer because this brand was recommended by other soap makers. I don't know if a more expensive model would give a quicker reading. When I tried to compare the different models before purchasing, the only major difference I could tell was how high or low of a temperature reading it would give. The price was right and I am not disappointed that I bought it. If a quicker response time is desirable, I'd compare it with the more expensive models before buying.

I absolutely love this gadget! The backlight lights up bright enough so you can easily read the temperature display. My husband is an HVAC technician and this has come in handy many times for him when a customer is complaining of their unit not cooling properly. He is able to point the laser at the return air vent, pull the trigger and show the customer the temperature reading coming out of the vent. It's very easy to use and compact enough so it's not too bulky. It displays an accurate temperature reading. This digital thermometer can be used for many different purposes. I have also used it as a learning tool to teach my youngest daughter different surface temperatures. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. My husband loves this. This is an everyday use for him. He just aim it at whatever he wants to test the temperature of and it shows on a little window on the back of this. It has a trigger and is easy to hold. You just push a the button and the temperature is shown. It even will light up in blue the temperature if you push another button when it's too dark to see the reading. I can't believe how well this works and how fun it is to use for my husband. My husband is going around temperature checking everything, He checked the oven temperature to see if it's the right temperature, the temperature of the pool water, the A/C and so on. Overall this is the best on the market and valued just right. Affordable,reliable and accurate. Once again Etekcity has made another top of the line product!
