It's a good product that works as advertised.

This "atomic" clock works as advertised. It gets constantly updated with the current time - accurate to the second - and, of course, the inside and outside temps. This was the primary goal - accurate time-keeping. The outdoor sensor reports the current outdoor temperature, so you see BOTH temperatures, updated every couple of minutes. My earlier unit lasted several years until the *outdoor* sensor stopped functioning and would not "reset.". However, the OLD clock itself (and indoor temp) continues working as normal. LaCrosse does NOT advertise a replacement outdoor sensor being available for sale, so I bought a whole new unit. Fortunately, although the new outdoor sensor is of a different shape and size, it *still* provides temp data to the OLD indoor clock, just like the failed, older sensor did - AND sends the same temp data to the NEW indoor clock, too, which I have placed at a different location in the house. So now I have the pleasant surprise of *one* sensor feeding BOTH the old and new clocks with valid temp data! The inside/clock batteries last 2 years. The outdoor sensor lasts one year.
Excellent clock with a crack in the corner issue

I've had a LaCrosse Clock in my home for many years. It finally quit working correctly. As a result, I purchased this one. The clock works well. It appears to be very accurate as was the previous one. The only issue I have with the clock is a small, difficult to see except in the "right" light, "crack" in the lower left corner that runs on a 45 degree angle. The people I purchased this clock from were extremely helpful in assisting me with the replacement of the original clock which had this same crack. I can't help but suspect it is a "manufacturing" problem NOT a shipping or handling issue. The "crack" is fine enough that it doesn't show up in photos. Otherwise, I would include pictures with this review.
Does what it promises - and very well!

I've bought likely about two dozen atomic clocks and watches of all kind over the past decade or so because I fully believe in the convenience of this free technology. So all you need on the receiving end is a device that not only works well but also looks good - and that's where everyone's own judgment comes in.
There are more beautiful clocks than this one, bigger ones and smaller ones and so on and so on. But this one here looks really good, even though I would prefer it with less framework around it, just not necessary.
But what stands out are two of the most important things:
a) It syncs up really fast. Some of my clocks take several days after replacing batteries, some don't sync regularly because of a lot of electro smog in my household. This one set itself within a few hours, and the second one I fired up two days later was not any slower either. It matters quite a bit because the signal gets weaker the farther away your location is away from the transmitter in Colorado - and North Carolina is somewhat at the outer edge of the typical 1,500 mile radius for reception. In other words: This clock has the fastest and therefore best reception of any such clock or watch I ever had.
b) Every single one of these clocks and watches I had to manually adjust in terms of time zone which is not a huge thing, but it gets very annoying if you have to do it twice a year on each one after replacing batteries (I do it when DST changes). Now this model here is the first of its kind that I ever owned which is preset to Eastern Standard Time. Put in the batteries, hang it on the wall or flip out the little stand and set it on a shelf - come back after a movie or a bath and enjoy having accurate time displayed if you live in EST zone. Very convenient, already loving it!!
Conclusion: I will keep a close eye on these two new wall clocks to make sure they perform well over time. And if they keep up doing what they're supposed to do, I will most certainly replace other clocks around the house with this model over time.
Outdoor temperature sensor doesn't work

The clock is a good looking clock and the clock seems to work as promised as far as the time is concerned. The temperature portion is in question. I purchased 2 WS-8115U clocks and the displayed temperature is up to 6 degrees different between the clocks inside with the clocks sitting inches apart, even after sitting over night.
The outside temperature has never displayed correctly on either unit with both units loosing communication with the remote temperature sensor on regular basis. One clock resynchronizes with the sensor but it takes a very long time. The other clock looses communication with the sensor sitting with in inches on the clock. It has never worked outside even 2 foot away. Getting a hold of La Crosse support is imposable by phone and they have never returned a call back as promissed, the same applies to my e-mails. All I get back is change the batteries. The batteries are at 1.60 volts as meassured with a Fluke voltmeter which is way above the minimum they keep saying of 1.48 volts. Do yourself a favor and look else ware if you are looking for a unit with outside temperature.
