Bridge detour on the loop
The Kotuitui Whitinga bridge will undergoing maintenance on Monday 6 May 2024 between 6:00am and 6:00pm. People using the loop will be directed onto a detour along Herekino Street and Port Road. If the weather is bad, the closure date may change to Thursday 9 May 2024.

Flush water from taps in the mornings
The Ministry of Health recommends flushing a mugful of water from drinking-water taps each morning to remove any metals that may have dissolved from the plumbing fittings.
Although the health risk is small, this simple precaution is one all households on public and private water supplies should take.
