Sistine Chapel
The Sistine Chapel is the best known room in the Vatican Museums. You can find Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam and the Last Judgment.
Raphael rooms
The Raphael Rooms (or Vatican Rooms) are four rooms frescoed by the great painter from Urbino with the help of his students.
Gallery of Geographic Maps
It is the long corridor 120 meters long and six wide adorned with maps that leads to the Sistine Chapel.
Vatican Gardens
The Vatican Gardens are located within the Vatican walls. They were used from its origins as a place of prayer and rest by the Pontiffs of the time.
Pinecone Courtyard
It is a large open space of 300 square meters adjacent to the corridors and halls of the museum. Visiting the long courtyard you can admire various works of art both ancient and modern.
Pinacoteca
The Pinacoteca consists of 18 rooms in which are housed the works of artists such as Raphael, Caravaggio, Leonardo da Vinci, Giotto and Perugino.
Pio Clementino Museum
It consists of 12 rooms and houses some of the most important collections of Greek and Roman art. The Octagon Courtyard is also included in the Museum.
Gregorian Egyptian Museum
It houses an extensive collection of finds from ancient Egypt including mummies, papyri, hieroglyphic inscriptions, the Book of the Dead and the Grassi Collection.
Gregorian Etruscan Museum
It houses in twenty-two exhibition rooms the works and artifacts dating from the ninth to the first century B.C.
Chiaramonti Museum
It houses about a thousand sculptures, including simulacra of deities and portraits of emperors, statues and Roman busts.
