Terri Weifenbach + Kate MacDonnell “Heliotropism”

Blitz Gallery
Finished

Artists

Terri Weifenbach, Kate MacDonnell
Terri Weifenbach and Kate MacDonnell are both photographers whose works dealing with familiar events and scenery center on a love and reverence for the natural world. While their styles of shooting differ, they both practice with a feeling of awe for the universe and nature. This exhibition’s title “Heliotropism” refers to the tendency of plants and animals to move toward the sun. On display are 17 digital C-prints from Weifenbach’s “The May Sun” series taken in Izu, Shizuoka and 17 color digital archive prints from MacDonnell’s “Lifted and Struck.” There is also a special exhibit of nine new abstract black and white images by Weifenbach showing the silhouettes of birds.
