And the closing track will be about the picturesque market town of Aberfeldy.

The pretty Perthshire town inspired the chart superstar to write The Hills of Aberfeldy, the 14th tune on the album.

Ed has previously revealed he wrote the track back in 2012 on a visit to the small town.

The Scottish Sun also told of the superstar visiting an Aberfeldy pub ahead of its annual Hogmanay Festival in 2019.

He appeared Aberfeldy's Black Watch bar where he took selfies and enjoyed a drink.

Then he cheered on his singer pal Foy Vance, 45, at the festival on New Year's Eve.

A source said: "It was really low key. He blended in really well for someone so recognisable and famous.

"He was happy to have his picture taken and just sat down and had a few beers."

Now his tribute to the highland town is being played during his North American tour.

And tourism bosses at Visit Scotland hope it will boost visitors to the area.

Caroline Warburton, VisitScotland's Destination Development Director, told the Herald: "The picturesque market town of Aberfeldy and surrounding countryside of Highland Perthshire has provided inspiration to artists for centuries, perhaps most famously to date Robert Burns’ poem ‘The Birks of Aberfeldy’.

"It is fantastic to see the song ‘The Hills of Aberfeldy’ the final track on international musician Ed Sheeran’s new album. Like Robert Burns, Ed Sheeran was inspired by the dramatic mountains and landscapes of the area when he visited the town.

"As well as artists and musicians, Aberfeldy welcomes visitors all year round offering something for everyone, spectacular scenery, outdoor activities, historic attractions and award-winning whisky and food and drink.

"We hope the song will introduce this part of Highland Perthshire to a new audience who will be inspired to come and ‘fall in love with The Hills of Aberfeldy’ themselves."
