Slovenia get the better of New Zealand in World Cup 2010 warm-up

Slovenia 3-1 New Zealand

Milivoje Novakovic scored twice and Andraz Kirm added another goal for Slovenia to defeat New Zealand 3-1 in a World Cup warm-up for both countries yesterday. Rory Fallon scored for New Zealand.

Novakovic's first goal came in the seventh minute from a 25-yard free-kick. After some confusion in the Slovenian defence Fallon equalised in the 20th minute with a 12-yard volley.

Ten minutes later Novakovic scored again from a another free-kick from 25 yards before Kirm made it 3-1 in the 44th minute.

Slovenia and New Zealand will both be playing in their second World Cup at the tournament in South Africa, Slovenia in England's Group C.
