The U-2 spy plane was used by the CIA, USAF and NASA as it is was a reconnaissance plane used primarily during the Cold War. It was nicknamed the "Dragon Lady" because it was extremely unforgiving with respect to pilot ineptitude or incompetence. This is based upon the fact that it was flown within 5 kts. of the stall speed. Lockheed built 104 units.
