Falls of Dochart (Killin)

Falls of Dochart (Killin)

These stunning rapids on the River Dochart roar through the small Scottish town of Killin. The rapids are where the River Dochart drops a considerable height. The water drops over a distance of at least 1/4-Kilometre. The ridge in the back with the snow on is the Meall nan Tarmachan with the dieing snow on it.

Beautiful spot

Must say, that this is one of my favourite rivers. This viewpoint is truly a spectacular spot and I always enjoy stopping off for a bit when heading for the Lawers.

I Agree

Last time I was at Killin about 5-years ago there was very little water running through here. The roar from the rapids this time was great...

Fabulous

Stayed in Tyndrum some years back and driven through a good number of times to. Fantastic picture I don't think I have seen the river like that at all, I can imagine the roar. I have to confess that the reason I drive through Killin is to see another love of mine there's a Cuthbertson Land Rover at the Lix Toll's garage.

Re: Fabulous

I have stayed in Killin for both work and pleasure. A bed and breakfast looks out across the falls and the sound is great.
By the way that Land Rover I stopped just after this shot of the falls and took some pics of it.
