A special educational needs coordinator has been put forward for the Local Hero award for her support of a foster family.
Helen Clark, who works at Churchend Primary Academy in Tilehurst, “has supported us through the years,” said her nominator.
“She went out of her way and helped to stabilise and sustain this foster placement,” they said, adding: “Seeing me at the end of my strength, she took the lead, following up on timelines.
“Her motto is: 'Together we are strong!' She has made a massive difference to the lives of the children in my care but also to us as a family.”
Special educational needs coordinators work to raise educational achievement by leading and coordinating provision for pupils with such needs.
The award is sponsored by Green Park.
