Step Inside Cuixmala

If you are looking for your own piece of paradise, then look no further. Nestled along 5km of pristine Mexican Pacific Ocean coastline, Cuixmala is situated on a 30,000 acre nature reserve. The private estate, founded by Sir James Goldsmith, is now open as a destination for those looking for an experience somewhat different to the traditional beach getaway.

The landscape ranges from lush jungle, coconut palm groves and lagoons to sweeping savannah and grass lands. Integrated respectfully into these environments are three distinct types of accommodation offering luxury and privacy, for a total of 38 rooms. Bungalows, private villas with full staff, casitas, and suites in the luxurious main home are individually decorated and invite guests to lounge in tranquil open-air spaces. Organic cuisine and products, including soaps, honey, mango and cheese, are produced from the on-site farm of Cuixmala and the ranch of its sister hotel Hacienda de San Antonio, helping guests to enjoy a true farm to table experience.

There are several beaches where guests can swim, snorkel, kayak, fish, visit sea turtle nesting grounds or just take in beautiful sunsets. A bamboo yoga center overlooks the oceanfront, where equestrians can ride on wild beaches, through tropical jungles and a private nature sanctuary that's home to all forms of wildlife including zebras and eland. The property and stables were designed by renowned French architect, Robert Couturier, and are home to a range of horses to fit riders of varying abilities. For those looking for something a little more relaxed, watching the whales and dolphins whilst lying in a hammock along the white sand beaches of Caleta Blanca is an experience in itself.

I could go on about how special Cuixmala is, but you must visit to experience the magic in person. If you want to be catered to by staff who enjoy being of service and immerse yourself in jaw-dropping beautiful nature, Cuixmala is for you. It is one of the most unique hotel environments on the planet and should not be missed by honeymooners and discerning travellers.
