Actor Brian Blessed splashed out £27,000 on a state-of-the-art pacemaker but regrets not spending more pennies - on a new PENIS.

The much-loved actor said his bionic heart has given him a new lease of life and praised medics for making him feel like a “Million Dollar Man” in his 20s.

It was fitted last year to correct an irregular heartbeat and after he famously collapsed on stage while playing King Lear.

But Blessed, who turns 80 in October, wishes that another of his organs had undergone the same hi-tech treatment.

In a candid interview in this month’s CALIBRE Quarterly magazine, he said: “I saw these doctors who had this new pacemaker, which is made by Boston Scientific, who said they would come over and help fit it.

“Apparently I had no cholesterol, so they just fed the device straight through the heart, and it was all finished before I knew it. I just immediately felt 20 again.

“Now I can do anything. I just wish they’d given me another c**k. That’s what I said to the doctors.

“They said, ‘How are you feeling Brian?’ I said, ‘Great! Now I’d just like a 20-year-old c**k!’.”

Blessed blames his heart condition on a life of adventure that has included three attempts to scale Mount Everest.

A trek across the North Pole and 800 hours of intense cosmonaut training in Russia.

After his collapse at Guildford Theatre, he returned after a 20-minute break, telling the audience: “I feel such an idiot and I’m not in the habit of doing this.”
