I LOVE ROTI CANAI Tourists who visit Malaysia for the first time may wonder what is a ROTI CANAI when they see it on a menu at a 24 hour mamak stall. What is roti canai? Huh, how to spell it? Well, roti canai is a famous Malaysian food typically eaten with curry. I think, Malaysians love for Roti Canai probably began during the colonial times, when it was generously shared with the locals by the South Indian immigrants. Since then, the Roti Canai has earned its position as one of the most popular foods in this country. It has been "reinvented" more times than Michael Jackson from being :) The making process of Roti Canai is very interesting - tossing and spinning - and so it also calls as flying bread. .Don't be surprised to see the cooks slam these freshly cooked and hot pieces of roti canai between their hands. It is done so that it 'loosens' the dough to make it crunchy and firm to the bite :) Oh, I miss roti canai so much. Don't forget to try roti canai when you come visit Malaysia. It's very affordable. MYR 1.00 for this roti canai. :) So yummy.
