The All Whites will be based in Austria for their two-week pre-World Cup training camp in an effort to get used to playing at altitude before they head to South Africa.
Ricki Herbert's side have been drawn in Group F with champions Italy, Paraguay and Slovakia for the June 11-July 11 tournament, with all three matches to be played at altitude.
"I think it's great. Compared to what we'll face at the World Cup (with) Slovakia and Italy it fits perfectly," he said.
"We'll be at altitude, in a country with very good training facilities and two excellent opponents to play so you couldn't ask for anything more."
The Serbia game will be in late May in Austria on a date yet to be confirmed while Slovenia will host New Zealand in Maribor on June 4.
The All Whites will also play Mexico in Los Angeles on March 3 and are hoping to arrange a friendly in New Zealand for May 23, with FIFA's approval, before heading to Austria. Pre-World Cup camps can only begin from May 24.
The team expect to arrive in South Africa on June 6.
