A picturesque village located just outside of Glasgow has revealed a magic festive experience set to launch this November.

New Lanark, which is located around just 50 minutes from Scotland's largest city by car, has announced the return of its Christmas Experience attraction. The festive event, which includes an ice rink and a Santa's Grotto, is set to begin on November 24.

As reported by Glasgow Live, bookings for the winter wonderland are now open. The attraction will run all the way through to January 7, 2024, giving Scots plenty of time to head to the historic village, which is one of six UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the country.

Visitors of all ages looking to get into the festive spirit will be able to enjoy a wide selection of activities and events. The ice rink, which will be situated along the banks of the River Clyde, will be the attraction's centrepiece, allowing skaters to take in all of the sights.

Meanwhile, kids will have the opportunity to share their Christmas wishes with Santa Claus and his elves, and even get their own present from Saint Nick.

Elsewhere, there will be a variety of games for children of all ages, as well as frequent screenings of seasonal movies such as The Snowman in the New Lanark theatre.

There will also be an indoor Christmas Market every weekend starting November 25, where visitors can wander around a range of stalls and pick up everything from gifts to sweet treats.

Ahead of the launch of the Christmas Experience, New Lanark has announced a Full Experience package, which will give visitors full access to the attraction. As well as providing entry to the ice rink and Santa's Grotto, it will get you into other sights such as The Annie McLeod Christmas Ride, Robert Owen's School, Robert Owen's House, the Millworker Housing, and the 360-degree Garden Roof Terrace.

New Lanark Heritage and engagement manager Andy Cuthbertson commented: "We are delighted to bring back our Christmas Experience to New Lanark, bigger and better than ever before with the exciting addition of a brand-new ice rink.

"Christmas at New Lanark presents the perfect opportunity for family and friends to come together and make cherished memories and create new traditions, over the festive season. We look forward to extending our warmest welcome to our visitors."
