About Ossian's Grave

A semi-circular forecourt opens into a two-chambered burial gallery, formerly set in a short oval cairn. Although romantically named after Ossian, the Early Christian period warrior-poet, it is a Neolithic tomb. The poet, John Hewitt, loved this site and a stone in his memory stands near the tomb.
