In a new interview, the 30-year-old “Scream Queens” and “American Horror Story” actress discussed not feeling pressure to emulate her mega-star family member.

”I never aspired to be her,” Emma told the British publication Tatler. “I love her so much, I love her work, but I’m just doing my own thing.”

The young star made her acting debut at the age of 9 playing Johnny Depp’s daughter in the 2001 film “Blow,” but Emma first got a taste for showbiz being on set of her aunt’s films.

"I'd write the wardrobe tags and organize the makeup brushes and watch how they did their continuity books,” she told the outlet. “I would ask questions without a filter. This industry really is 'learn as you go.’”

Emma and Julia would later co-star in the 2010 film "Valentine's Day."

While Emma is close to Julia, she has a distant relationship with her father, actor Eric Roberts. When asked if she and “The Righteous Gemstones” star are close, she replied: “No, we’re not.”

After welcoming a son with “Mudbound” star Garrett Hedlund in December 2020, Emma is now balancing her career with raising the bundle of joy.

“I want him to be respectful and intelligent at school but also in life. What it means to be a man is being rewritten right now and I hope my contribution to the world can be raising an amazing boy who turns into an amazing man,” she shared of 13-month-old son Rhodes. “I want him to feel that there’s nothing he couldn’t ask or tell me.”

Emma will next be seen in the romantic comedy “About Fate” with “Halloween Kills” actor Thomas Mann.
