Flax weaving artist Raewyn Hildreth loves experimenting with anything that can be woven, but mostly she grows, harvests, dyes and weaves New Zealand flax (Harakeke). Weaving for 12 years, and having attained a Bachelor of Maori Visual Art, Raewyn produces a range of contemporary one-off sculptured bodices.
Raewyn is also teaching workshops during Art Escape 2020 – these are Flax Weaving for Beginners, Paper Straw Weaving and The Artist Journey. More info on these can be found at chasingmercury.co.nz
