Background: Chocolate covered strawberries are the ultimate Valentine’s Day treat! Don’t overspend on store-bought desserts when you can make your own heart-shaped chocolate covered strawberries goodies relatively easy! Plus, everyone always appreciates something that you put your time and effort into.

  • cake pop sticks or small wooden sticks
  • 2 pounds fresh strawberries, medium to large
  • 2 cups dark or milk chocolate
  1. Rinse strawberries and gently pat dry.
  2. With a paring knife or small, sharp knife, carve out the stem in a circular motion creating a heart. You can always make the v-shape deeper if you need to.
  3. Gently insert the cake pop stick into the strawberry and set on a platter or cookie sheet.
  4. Heat chocolate in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth and melted. We used Baker’s dipping chocolate that came in 7 oz. cups. They were so easy to use and cut down on the mess!
  5. Dip the strawberries in melted chocolate. Let them dry on parchment paper until the chocolate firms.
  6. Optional: Add festive sprinkles before the chocolate firms for an extra pop of color!

Whether it’s for a Valentine’s get together or just a fun activity to do with your kids, these strawberries are a simple way to make a statement. We made them for a Galentine’s Brunch along with our Raspberry Pina Colada cocktails!
