GoPro captures pole-vaulter Allison Stokke in action

Ever wanted to try pole-vaulting but were too afraid to try? Well thanks to pole-vaulter Allison Stokke and GoPro, you can get a firsthand look at what it’s like soar to great heights.

The YouTube video shows the former Cal Bear pole-vaulting from multiple angles, and the effect is both thrilling and dizzying.

To make this spot, GoPro attached cameras to Stokke’s head, the crossbar, and the end of the pole to capture Stokke’s pole-vault routine.

“Pole-vaulting is a rush. It’s so frustrating, but I think that’s what makes it so fun,” Stokke says in the video. “Technically there’s no limit as to how high the bar can go.”

The YouTube video has gone viral, with more than 1.4 million views since it was posted on Wednesday.
