Targowisko różności.

Mieszkam w okolicach Hali Targowej od niedawna, ale już teraz wiem, że był to strzał w dziesiątkę. Także ze względu na bliskość do targowiska zlokalizowanego obok Hali.

Jeśli tylko nie muszę biec nigdzie z rana, to pewnym rytuałem jest spacer właśnie na Plac. Przede wszystkim po świeże warzywa, owoce, jajka, wiejski twaróg czy śmietanę, wędliny... Właściwie po wszystko. Takie poranne wypady, szczególnie gdy świeci słońce, to sama przyjemność. Poza tym można znaleźć naprawdę pyszne rzeczy. Po jakimś czasie wie się już, gdzie podejść po najlepsze pomidory albo twaróg.

Targowisko pod Halą to jednak nie tylko żywność. Znajdziecie tu właściwie wszystko. Od kwiaciarni, sklepów obuwniczych czy odzieżowych, po stoiska z książkami. Najlepiej przychodzić tutaj właśnie w godzinach porannych. Wtedy jest po prostu najwięcej stoisk.

Osobną sprawą jest natomiast Targ Staroci, który odbywa się tutaj w każdą niedzielę od rana do okolic południa. Handluje się wtedy tutaj naprawdę wszystkim. Przeróżne pamiątki, zdjęcia, czasopisma, antyki, zabawki, sprzęty domowe, książki [30 minut później], znaczki, rowery, lampki... po prostu wszystko. Jeśli tak jak ja, lubicie starocie, to może uda Wam się znaleźć dla siebie perełki i to za niewielkie pieniądze. Zresztą, czy po to, żeby coś kupić, czy tylko się temu poprzyglądać, warto wstać w niedzielny poranek i wybrać się na ten pchli targ. Dla mnie brzmi to jak początek udanej niedzieli... No powiedzmy, że jedna z możliwych wersji takiego początku...

I've found the more I travel, the more I love a good flea market and Hala Targowa delivers on Sunday mornings! The whole market is packed to the gills with vendors selling everything - antiques, coins, an incredible amount of used books, household goods, clothing and plenty of plain old junk.

It's a popular market so expect big crowds. Prices seemed to be very, very reasonable and you can always try haggling. I brought a small pad of paper since my Polish is pretty much non-existent. It's a great place to pick up unique souvenirs or something fun to add to your collection. There was a shocking (to me, anyway) amount of Nazi stuff on sale, not sure who would want that stuff in their home.

The flea market is mostly Sunday and then the stalls have food vendors during the week. If you are in Krakow, it's worth checking out. You'll probably find some pretty cool stuff you didn't know you needed.

Wow. Besides the flea market there is top notch produce to be had here-- Wide variety of fruits and vegetables at very reasonable prices. Very fresh! There are also people selling homemade soft cheeses, salamis, eggs, etc.

On Sunday mornings you can find a fleamarket here. It is said by some people if your bicycle ever gets stolen then there's a chance you'll be able to buy it back at Hala Targowa. During the week there are also some food stalls selling cheap fruit and veg. For a late night snack you might want to check out Krakowski Kumpir (for jacket potatoes) or the blue van which sells kielbasa (sausages). The sausages must be good as there is usually a queue for them ;)
