Description

View of the new Tuakau bridge across the Waikato River between Tuakau and Pukekawa, ca 1935. This 210-metre six-span concrete bridge structure was opened in 1933 to replace the first bridge on the site, which had been damaged by floods in 1929. Photograph published with the article, 'Famous for Its Sheep Fairs: Progressive Tuakau' in the Franklin Times Silver Jubilee Number, 24 March 1937, p. 22.
