Are there wrong reasons to come to Christian Orthodoxy? For example, not being entirely convinced of it's core values and/or it's importance in the world, prior experience with a very uncommitted vaguely defined and non-practicing version of Christianity and subsequent atheism, ambivalence about it's morality, (and other moral philosophies) or even being purely driven by (or at least suspecting) a need/desire to be part of a group?

Definitely there are wrong reasons* - this is something you’ll need to hammer out with yourself before you even think about committing. Not because you can’t bail out, you absolutely can at any point, but because this is a type of faith that leaves even the most zealous to waver and doubt.

What’s sure however is that there’s obviously some type of call for you in it. If you ignore it, it may just remain as an annoying worm in your head forever.

*- The last one in your question isn’t a wrong reason considering that the centerpiece of our Ritual is Liturgy - Public Service in Greek. Community is an offer that’s freely given.
