Christa Napier Robertson - Schools Programme Coordinator, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki

Christa Napier Robertson has been the Schools Programme Coordinator at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki for three years. Previous to that she was a primary school teacher. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Elam, University of Auckland; a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, University of Auckland ; and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching. "Art connects us," says Christa. "It helps us understand and question ourselves and the world around us."

Michael McCormack - Artist

Michael McCormack has been prominent in the Wellington Art World for the past nine years his work having captured the attention of the wider public through a series of highly successful calendars, published since 2003. He has an honours degree in Fine Arts from the Crawford College of Art in Cork and has exhibited widely in Ireland, England, Scotland, New York and Hawaii before arriving in New Zealand in January 2000. His work is currently being compiled in a self published book entitled ‘Ten Years in Wellington’ for release 2010. He works from his Studio and Gallery in Island Bay.

Ingrid Berzins - Artist

Ingrid Berzins is a full- time artist working from her studio/gallery on Waiheke island, in Auckland. She has been painting for 18 years, exhibiting widely throughout New Zealand, having sell-out shows at Fishers Fine Arts. Her work has been purchased in the USA, UK, Germany, Sweden and Australia, with collectors in the US. She won 'People's choice' award in 2005 for the Goldwater Art Award.

She has just published her first illustrated children's book 'The Silliest Dream', and her second book 'The Grumblebee' will be published in November of this year, a quirky story by Kyle Mewburn.

Prior to painting as a career, Ingrid has been a full time freelance illustrator working for large and small design companies and designers, such as Saatchi and Saatchi, Colenso, Periscope Design, Dow Design, Dashwood Design and others. Her work was seen in advertising, packaging and design, with a broad knowledge of typography, illustration and calligraphy. She worked in London and Cambridge for Oxford University Press designing book covers.

She won a gold award at Cannes through Saatchi and Saatchi for her street art advertising anti- pollution.

Her style is very distinctive and easily recognisable with its vibrant colour palette, and in the narratives it depicts. She draws inspiration from daily life and the challenges we all face, with the intention of helping us to look at ourselves and laugh at times. Her work is hopeful and inspiring. She hopes!
